Hi, nice to meet you!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Emilee Perdue and I am a writer from Central Florida. I am a 22-year-old currently studying at Florida State University. I am set to graduate in July 2022 with a Bachelor's in Editing, Writing, and Media as well as a Bachelor's in Family and Child Science.

If you can't already tell, my two passions are writing and people – and I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to study both! Right now, you can find me writing for Hadassah's Hope, a non-profit centered in Jacksonville, Florida, and interning at an award-winning Florida magazine, Flamingo.

When I'm not studying or working, you can find me curled up in bed with a good book. My recent favorites are Normal People by Sally Rooney, Circe by Madelline Miller, and the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. I enjoy writing literary fiction, fantasy fiction, travel writing—almost any type of writing—in my free time.

My Story

No matter where I am in life, you will always find me with my nose stuck in a book. Most likely a fantasy book. Probably by Sarah J. Maas. No, definitely by Sarah J. Maas. I have been enthralled by storytelling for as long as I could remember. I first started writing stories when I was in the second grade. My writing since then has profusely improved – thank goodness – but the passion is still burning as bright as ever. My lifelong dream is to become a published author and I am willing to do whatever that takes!

I think a person's bookshelf says a lot about them, so I will share with you the books that live on my top shelf (only the best of the best!). These include Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie, Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. These amazing authors have inspired me over the years to think without consequence and imagine with my entire heart. My ultimate goal is to create spirited, ambitious, loud, and strong female characters to inspire young readers. I desperately want to take the worlds and characters that have been living in my head the past couple of years and share them with others, so that they may love them as much as I do!
